It’s the quote that stood out to me in an interview with the Kickstarter CEO. The site lets people post proposals (many of them dream projects) with financial goals for strangers to support. That Oura ring you see on people’s finger to track their health stats was an early Kickerstarter project.
This is what he told the NYT: “There’s no coincidence that I’m thinking more about the smaller creators and the new creators right now because I see what’s happening in the world. People are being forced into entrepreneurship. You get laid off again and again, and then you can’t find a job. What else are you going to do? I want Kickstarter to be a place where we welcome those people.”
We don’t know how the labor market is going to change in this next era, which is why talking with someone about your career now and making sure you are thinking about options is important. Schedule a quick chat to get started at jasoncollington.com.
