Jason Collington
Jason Collington is an American consultant, journalist, educator and former media executive based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He served as the 10th Executive Editor of the Tulsa World from October 2020 to September 2025, concluding a 26-year career with the organization.
Early Life and Education
Collington attended Stillwater High School from 1990 to 1994. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in News Editorial from Oklahoma State University, where he studied from 1994 to 1999.
Career
Associated Press
Collington began his journalism career at the Associated Press in the Oklahoma City bureau in January 1999, where he worked as a newsman writing and editing stories for newspaper and broadcast clients throughout Oklahoma and nationally until September 1999.

Collington joined the Tulsa World in September 1999, where he would spend over two decades in various roles:
Features Writer (1999–2006): He wrote profiles and features for the Living and Scene sections of the newspaper.
Web Editor (2006–2018): Collington managed digital products for the Tulsa World during a transformative period in journalism as news organizations adapted to the internet age.
